Hero of the week is a poll on who you feel is most deserving of the title 'hero of the week', with staff taking turns to choose choices. This week, its my turn.
![]() No1: Sayid. ![]() Sayid takes a lot of criticism, some probably justified, other times not, but for me he was a hero in constant. Sayid was as calm, steady, understanding, as desmond was disentoriated. Others wouldnt have been able to cope with the situation, but sayid is a man who takes in new surroundings and looks at every situation with a clear head, which helped him out a lot here. Sayids the man as far as im concerned. No2: Daniel Faraday. This guy is a genius. NO other words to describe him. He knows his stuff thats for sure. And he most likely saved desmond's life in this episode. If this doesnt count as heroic im not sure what does. Plus the new revelation about him only adds to his heroicness. Oh and i think he should have kept the hair ![]() No3: Desmond/Penny. ![]() At first i was just gonna go with desmond, seeing as he completely owned this episode, and seems to be singlehandedly guiding lost's direction, but i couldnt leave out penny. They were so close in this episode i felt i couldnt split them. Im not gonna go into my reasons for this selection, save ill tell you now im voting for them. Desmonds arc is the best thing on lost right now. I love it. ![]() Special mention goes to the lost writers, if only i could have picked you guys ![]() Dont forget that if you disagree with who i picked, your welcome to say so!

I wanted to say Desmond so badly, but I had to go with Daniel because if it werent for him Desmond would have never been able to contact Penny. Although Desmond deserves a lot of praise this time around. Penny too. By far the best love story on Lost. Kate/Jack/Sawyer have never had me in tears like that.

All really deserving choices. Much as I want to go with Desmond (and Penny) though, because he is my favourite character and he played a beautiful role in this episode, it was Daniel who actively saved his life (I know Penny played a passive role as well), so he gets it. Sayid's very deserving too for just being so calm and present - a brilliantly underplayed part in that episode. But Daniel gets it, and Desmond can have it if we see him acting as Daniel's constant in a later episode.

Seeing as this is hero, it's Faraday. Des (imo) wasn't much of a hero in this episode, but you do have to love him.

Really difficult to choose (and if you'd put the writers on the list, I'd have voted for them). But I have to go for Dan - that was some really quick thinking there, to come up with a way to help Desmond under that kind of pressure.

Des/Penny were great, but the one with the most heroic qualitites were Dan I reckon - he did all he could to save Desmond and he's still trying to get on with his work and things even though he knows he's suffering as a result of it (like his memoery loss).

It has to be my man Sayid. What a guy!
He repaired the phone so Desmond could actually get his constant.

I voted for Daniel. I just love him, what a legend. He pretty much saved Desmond's life in that episode, he was just brilliant
But also can i say that i loved Sayid in this episode too. What a guy! He was a very close second. And i also think Desmond was brilliant.Good choices this week!

I have to go for Daniel. He was so amazing in this episode and he saved Desmond which earned him big points too. Loved his hair in the 1996 scene
Sayid was a close second for me and so was Penny/ Desmond. I found it really hard to choose for this week. Excellent choices! |

Yeah, good choices. Fortunately I think The Constant was an episode with a lot of heroicness in it - good for this game!
I'm going to pick Sayid over Dan because although Dan knew his stuff and without him they would been totally lost, he was just telling them what they needed to do and giving instructions whereas Sayid actually kept cool and managed to guide Desmond through the whole thing, along with fixing stuff! Sayid's the main hero this week. |

I would have nominated Penny's dad, possibly in the place of Sayid. He really helped out!
But out of these I will of course choose Des/Pen.

Ok for the record Desmond owned this episode, it was like a one man show and the best acting performance in the show so far. However my vote goes to Farday, for without him, Desomond would have been a mad bloke, and then, just a dead bloke.
