I'm suprised nobody's made a thread about it actually.
I thought it was going to be some MASSIVE ship, why did I have a kind of cruise ship in my head? It looked kind of old and worn out to me [I'm no boat expert though.]I was just wondering what your opinions were on it. Did you think it'd be different?/What did you think would be on it etc... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I was shocked by it's size too - it is awefully small. Or is that my skewed perception talking?
It did look a little 'tattered and torn' but it is not uncommon with boats/ships; an obvious statement really. Seems like a rather private operation - in that Abaddon has recruited bounty hunter-esque people to do his dirty work. The boat nor it's crew really look like your typical 'well organised' company/operation. Not really sure I am explaining this very well but I have a better explanation in my head.

They seemed to know what they were doing, and what [little] we saw of the interior it seemed well equipped for a certain job.

I thought it was small, too. There were a couple of interesting comments: one about the last port being Fiji, so presumably they were still in the Pacific, and the other along the lines of *when* the captain finds out (about the trashed comms room). That suggests:
1) the captain isn't actually there, and 2) they've been beetling about the ocean for quite a while. Conclusion? There's another (much, much bigger boat) around somewhere, where the captain hangs out, and which refuels and resupplies the little boat. And if the environs of the island are so dangerous (Minkowski and pal), it might be wise to keep the rest of the operation well away. |

Isn't that the shape of a fishing boat. Not 100% sure.
Also the freighter has 2 heli pads on it, so i think PaulineMRoss theory stands up. 1 heli to explore, 1 heli to resupply etc. |

I wasn't actually that surprised by the size of it really! I just figured that since they're doing who knows what out there, a really huge war-ship type of thing would have attracted too much attention going out to sea and then on it, so one this size - with space for two helicopters - seems about right.
Maybe there is a bigger boat out there, but I'm not really buying that at the moment...rather I reckon a couple of smaller boats would part from it to scout out the area or be used to pick up any supplies or things, since it would be more inconspicuous than a freighter. Perhaps the Captain is on a smaller boat, or on the second helicopter.

What I do not understand is George said "we just wanted to see the Island" - but I presume doing so would have required ALOT of effort and trouble be it turburlence and burning up lots of fuel. So how did the boat steer forward and then back as evidently it is not as easy as that. I take it they did not actually see the Island then?
I did not expect a Warship per say K.W but I just expected a bigger ship. This Freighter we saw was more along the lines of what they needed in Jaws 1. Okay perhaps not but seriously it was a shock because while it looks rather big, if you actually stare at it you get the impression it is small on the inside and only several to a dozen people are on board. Whereas I expected the Freighter people to be in the DOZENS.

Things never turn out to be what we expect after a long time visualising them.

Yes, good point MEP and thanks for the screenies
![]() I also thought the boat would be alot bigger, and I'm no sailor but that does indeed look more like a boat than what I perceive a freigther to look like. Looks like we've met the boaties and not the rest of the 'frieghties' Where art thou mother-ship? ![]() Te two heli-pads is interesting - I'm guessing one was for the Chopper that Naomi crashed into the sea (poor women/driving stereo-type, TPTB! ) and I'm also guessing this means that she piloted that chopper by herself, unless there's a poor perished chopper pilot in the sea somewhere (a good man goes down with his copter). Can't help thinking how antiquated the boat is - deffo from the Dharma days methinks and along with all the other implications (Brendon/Rousseau, Comms monitor similar to LG monitor) this also points to a Dharma/Rousseau/Widmore waiting game. And where's Regina - the anticpation is killing me ![]() Looking forward to seeing the boss also..and this "she" (Penny? Hanso's daughter?), who is this "she" and what are her orders going to be?

It is kind of small, I suppose, but it's a perfectly normal-sized ocean-going freight vessel really. I suppose it was such a big event that we were expecting a massive boat, but they never said 'oil tanker' ....
