Two epic Desmond episodes, one flashed before your eyes and the other remained constant - but which one blew your mind more?

Perhaps unfair to pit these two classics up against one another so soon, but it's a question which needs to be addressed at somepoint. Both were game changers, both fused character focus with underlying theories and plot-lines and both are amongst the best 42 minutes of tv seen this side of Deus Ex..

Out of the two, I think i'll go for 'Constant' - whilst flashes was brilliant and put so much 'out there' (time-travel etc), 4.05 seemed to marry al of those angles and bring them to life in such a new, dynamic and romantic (yes, romantic!) way.

In saying that, I can't ignore the significance of Flashes and what it has done for the Lost arc.

I picked The Constant.... not that Flashes Before Your Eyes didn't blow me away , but Constant had answers that i have been wanting and such a great plot. I liked how you described The Constant between Flashes I do agree with you there.

Constant was by far the better episode, in my view, so that's the one I voted for, but Flashes did introduce all the time-travel issues and was probably, at the time, the more mind-boggling.

Flashes was easy in comparison. Set back to a certain point and continue until the hatch implosion. This was much more confusing!!!

unfair to compare them with constant on everyone's minds, its kinda destined to take the votes.

Both were great though. Im not voting but if i did i choose constant right now.

Seconded. I cannot choose myself. The Constant is more revealing so perhaps it has the edge over Flashes. I think I will go with The Constant.

Indeed, it's a catch-22 situation - they were both great, Flashes gave us trhe foundation and TC realised the notion.

Yeah both were great episodes, but on first viewing I personally got my head around The Constant a bit better than Flashes...but saying that I still don't fully get everything in either. And while it was very engaging with Des and Penny in Flashes breaking up, it was even better to see them pretty much get back together in Constant.

The Constant. Both were excellent but to me the Constant also provided the answers to some questions, whereas after viewing Flashes i had a lot more questions. Then again, I had to rewatch Flashes to fully grasp the whole situation which could explain alot.

The Constant, as though Flashes was amazing, it was just cut short by the reveal of Charlie's approaching death at the end, while shocking, just doesn't cut it for me.

The Constant is better, in my opinion.

I can't choose. I loved them both. Flashes absolutely blew my mind when i first watched it...but the constant was amazing also.

Definitely The Constant for me. It's not that I didn't like Flashes but I just found it far far too confusing. (And of course I understand The Constant completely!

). No even though it was still hard to get your (well, my) mind around it, I think it's the best 42 minutes of TV drama I've ever seen after Deus Ex Machina and Walkabout. Just mind blowing!
