'Help me'... he begged of Locke.
Locke couldn't see him in the cabin and after watching The Constant it made me wonder if perhaps He is 'stuck' somewhere (or sometime) else. He isn't able to be back on the Island because his has no constant there but is desperately trying to find an anchor there. Just a thought. His conciousness has stayed in the future but he knows he is needed back on the Island. Same could apply to Jack in his flashforward with Kate. 'We have to go back, Kate'. Hell, I'm confused!! ![]()

I've mentioned this a few times during the hiatus, and I agree it seems very likely - especially after this episode.
He does seem to be 'stuck' in 2 (or more) places, unable to anchor himself to the island present. I would think that the "help me" Jacob is 'stuck' in the past rather than the future, since he "hates technology" and lived in a ramshackled abode etc. Although who knows what direction they will go in. I'm not sure about Jack - I don't think he's suffering from quite the same thing as Minkowski, Desmond and possibly Jacob (although it is a nice idea) - I do agree that Jack has a deep connection to the island and needs to feel his way back to his 'hook' (if you will), but I think it's slightly different from a "constant" issue in the way that we've seen in this eppy ![]() Although FF Jack certainly seems to have lost stability, things still appear to be 'familiar' to him - which wasn't the case with Des and to a larger extent Minker's.
