I'm thinking that i must have viewed one of the previous episodes wrong, because didn't time move slower on the island, compared to off island?? Remember the 30 minute difference? If so, the losties would presume that its christmas eve 2004, but wouldn't it be something completely different? Have i gone wrong somewhere?

I'm not going to try and think about it too hard. Especially bearing in mind that it might have been conceived primarily with a view to explaining Malcolm David Kelley's puberty ....
Basically I don't really understand what happens in transition to and from the island, but the rocket took half an hour to make a 30 second or so journey to the island, and Sayid and co seemingly took two days to make a short journey. I don't know that it was so much time's going slower on the island as it was something happening during the journey - from the helicopter crew's POV, it didn't take long to reach the boat, but a whole night seemed to have passed. It seems to be a wormhole effect. That said, Daniel did say something about time-perception being different on the island. So, eh. I don't really know. |
