I was always facinated with the S1 reference of a guy called "Brendon" in Rousseau's French SOS translation - it seemed to go by almost unnoticed compared with some of the stuff disected in S1..
Anyway for background on this "Brendon" guy, see this thread:Danielle's French Translation Transcript One of the freighties (think it was Minkowski) mentioned the fact that Brendon went crazy and destroyed the communications devices - now I could well be wrong, but I'm thinking that the implication is that this Brendon is also Rousseau's "Brendon" ..either that or TPTB are seriously running out of names..Anyway, if this is the case, it surely implicates Rousseau and possibly..possibly means that she is also the "her" Minkowski and chums were awaiting orders from! ![]() Do we have some dirt on Rousseau at last!?? I realise I'm jumping to conclusions here, but the name Brendon immediately jumped out at me since I was also intrigued by Rousseau's mention of him in those S1 SOS translations. Brendon 'going crazy' could also make sense - didn't Rousseau's partner (can't remember his name at this moment) also 'go crazy'? ![]()

Going back to the S1 transcript, it refers to Brandon/Brendon taking the keys and presumably locking her inside somewhere - with this in mind, did he leave the island (and Rousseau)... I guess he attempted to return - alas he's now in a "bodybag" (well, according to Minker's) - more evidence as to the 'complications' when attempting to return to the island..or when attempted to leave, for that matter. Was he exposed to high levels of radiation/magnetism? I'm seriously interesting in the possibility of Rousseau being the "her" that Minkowski's referenced - has she been communicating with the freighties all this time? A big assumption, but I think TPTB have now left this one 'open' (of course this is complete speculation, this Brendon thing could be nothing..or everything)

I remember Minchowski saying smt along the lines that he'd been to the island before. Said smt about going back.
Maybe Minchowski was recruited to the frieghter peeps cos of his island knowledge. But then i ask, how and why did he get off? |

Yeah, I think he said something that they had to turn back because of the radiation or whatever was sending people (Brandon, Minkowski himself) loopy (ie unable to find a constant..and possibly other conditions).
I think they've dropped anchor at a safe distance from the island. Makes you wonder whether they've been trying to get back for 16 years - that's how long Rousseau say's she's been on the island - although as we know 16 years perceived on the island is longer than the perception of time on the outside.
