Well..someone opened the door for Sayid, Des and Minkowski, and Minker's said "looks like you have a friend on this boat".

At first I thought it was either Frank or Regina..after watching the episode again, I'm also thinking that it could be Michael or Walt..

Any thoughts?

For me it's Michael. I can't believe it's anyone else. Saying that I'll be wrong now.

yeah it was definately bens spy, though im still unsure as to who this could be. micheal and walt are the most likely options but im not yet convinced.

what i didn't understand was why go to all the trouble of destroying all the radio equipment and then let sayid, a known communications expert, free to use it. surely ben wouldn't want them making contact with the outside world?

and how is this spy communicating with ben or the others if there are no radios?

My understanding is that it was Brendon who destroyed the radio equipment - Brendon apparently went "crazy" and my theory about him relates to what I posted in this thread.

I think that the person who opened the door is someone else (i.e. not the person who destroyed the comms equipment).

As for Ben communicating with his spy - he may not be doing it currently - he may have done so before he was captured by the Losties, or my pet theory is that Ben either has 'flashes' or is able to time-travel (or something). Although I admit, this is unlikely.

As far as contacting his spy it is still very possible. For example the spy would be able to use the phones as he/she is masquerading as one of the Freighties and would have access to one. He would also be able to steal a phone without it going totally unnoticed and get it to Ben somehow.

Plus we don't know how long the spy has been on the ship. The two may have been communicating through the Looking Glass for some time. Hence why Brendon (as I agree with Roco) may have destroyed the comms, to prevent the rest of the Freighties from ever finding out they contacted the Looking Glass and the Island. Brendon could very well have been working with the spy, especially if as Roco suggests he is linked with Danielle; and Danielle is interacting with Ben.

I'm almost fully convinced it's Michael....yet there's no obvious thing telling us that. It's just that....who else could it be?!

Doubt the peeps on frieghter wud want em there either.
Also Michael and Walt wud want to stay far far away from that place, and get on with life. They don't wanna get 'Lost' there again. I doubt they are on the boat.

It isn't Sayid, Desmond or Minchowski.

Minkowski said that Brandon went crazy, destroyed the equipment and apparently died - If memory serves, he said it as he was leading Des and Sayid to the Comms room.

True, but they might not have had a choice..freewill seems to be a premium on Lost, as behind every choice seems to lie fate and the bodies which govern it

I feel as though it has to be Michael in order for the revelation to have a strong impact, but I must admit I don't quite understand how Ben and Michael could have communicated during this time - Michael left directly after the comms went down, and Ben hasn't left the island since then to our knowledge. Michael certainly wasn't 'Ben's man' last time they met, so something must have happened in between. I suppose now we have the 'contant' theory though - perhaps they met in a different time. Or perhaps communication took place through Walt. Or perhaps the man on the boat is someone else entirely.

Its possible it was Frank as he did seem that he genuinely wanted to help.

If it were Michael and he was Ben's man on the boat why would he help Sayid (past loyalities?). How does helping Sayid help Ben?

You know when I first saw that part I automatically assumed it was Frank, as his recent speech on how he's trying to help, he's on their side ect...

But if it's not (I haven't got my head around the possibility of it being Mike yet) then I reckon it's Ray. There's something about him that seem's Ben-ish...
