ah bugger
![]() i prepared myself for an explaination for desmond's seeing into the past/future milarky and expected myself to be able to understand but, alas, i'm slowler than a legless tortoise. Does this mean that desmond is okay now and won't have anymore flash forwards/backwards? or will his brain just not melt? ah i'm going to have to watch that again... ![]() But that was a brilliant episode... however Sayid seemed a bit weak And what was with the creepy music when Faraday read his journal at the end? How would it be bad if he thought of Desmond all the time? ![]() and the big guy with the shaved head was in Smokin' Aces i love him ![]()

WOW!!
What an amazing episode. ![]() At first I though it was another case of Desmond flashing, and then I realised he was switchign through time ![]() I think we are all going to have to read up on Quantum Mechanics if we are to understand what is going on in Lost! It was an amazing episode which kept us guessing from beginning to end, and what an ending, the scene with Penny and Desmond was so touching. I almost shed a tear. I don't know what is going on on the freighter, but I cannot wait to find out. I am a little worried that my brain might explode like poor Elouise's if all of this thinking keeps up! |

Brilliant episode!! Pure genius. Writers, i applaud you
although it posed about another 100 questions, i feel that now we're starting to get a feel of where the show is heading and what its all about. I now have a much better understanding of the island...i guess that 'snowglobe' theory was about right. I also loved how we got a bit of an explanation of the time differences and everything. Even though not all the questions were answered directly, i found that lots were answered subtly, and now i have a better picture of where the show is going. For me this episode was kind of like a turning point in that respect. Also i think Desmond is brilliant. I've always liked him, and his episodes are always good. I'm still really confuddled with the whole time travel stuff though, and trying to work out what flash fits where and stuff like that. But it was great, albeit baffling. I think this episode had elements which were very similar to the film 'Back to the Future' - i take it lots of you have seen that movie? The bit where Desmond got Penny's phone number and told her not to change it so he could call her in 8 years was very much like BttF (the bit where Marty writes a letter to the Doc telling him to open it on a certain day)...also the bit where Desmond comes back from each flash with a nosebleed was taken from The Butterfly Effect. Even though i thought the writers would do better than to take elements from other films so explicitly, i actually loved it! (probably because i love BttF!) It was such an exciting episode. Loved the Des & Penny stuff, i'm so glad they've finally spoken to each other after all that time!! That was a really lovely scene. I also loved the distinct lack of Locke and Ben lol!! It was so nice to have an episode without those 2 in for once! The show had a better feel to it. I thought it was brilliant that we got to see the freighter after all this time just hearing of it! I think i actually went 'wow' when it came into view. That was a cool moment! Also cool that we saw the voice behind Minkowsky. I just want to add that i think Sayid was also great in this episode. And i definately think Michael is their 'friend' on the boat! I actually thought that would be revealed in this episode! But i have a feeling we wont be waiting much longer.

Its not that its bad, more that it means faraday has been affected with the same 'desease'. Which is kinda unnerving, hence the music ![]() hope that helped. ![]()

I'm quite disappointed that so many of your disliked Eggtown so much, and called it 'a disappointment' and such...i thought it was brilliant!
ALSO...random, but did anyone else think that the past Daniel reminded them of bearded Jack?! Or was that just me as well?! The bit where he first met Desmond and wasn't convinced that Des was being serious...he said something, and it was just the way he said it that really reminded me of the bearded FF Jack. Remember when Jack was drunk at the hospital and he was saying "Don't you pity me..." that bit! Lol! I have no idea why i thought they were similar, maybe it was just because Daniel was talking like he was drunk and he had a beard, lol. ![]()

The last time I cried this much at a Lost episode was Confidence Man (and most other Sawyer episodes but that makes my sentence less poetic, lol), and so, we can certainly say, this was one of the most emotional amd powerful episodes of Lost this season, and probably overall.
I must say, at first I was a little dubious. I wasn't keen on the army stuff, or the switch between time, but once we got to Daniel in the past, and the little rat....it all started to come together and I started to enjoy it more. (Small shout out to how awesome Juliet is - I love it when she's semi-evil. Brilliant.) As soon as Penny, who is amazing, came into it I knew the episode would be top quality. And it was. The phone scene at the end, can I just say, thank god for waterproof mascara and a huge shout out to the actors/writers/directors etc. It was amazing, brilliantly acted and just executed so well. I loved it. I love them....and I kinda like Desmond more now. Lol.

Right I finally got round to watching this last night (hence why there are gonna be a load of new replies on dead topics by me)
It certanily was a different lost episode, and a big improvement on the previous weeks. I am beginning to warm to Desmond a lot more since he came into the show and I thought it was a good performance in what was effectlivly a one man show. I honestly thought that was the best bit of acting we have had on the show so far. Intersested to see about the electromagentism and the effect it has on timetravel. I was also pleased to see the numbers make a come back and Widmore bidding for Hanso for the black rock journal was also welcomed. I really felt Desmonds pain at knowing he isnt insane, just shifting conciousnesses. Oh and Im glad they finally dealt with Christmas ![]() |
