Eggtown: Villain of The Week

Each week the staff team take turns in selecting their candidates for Villain of the week. This week, it's my turn...

KATE AUSTIN

Not only does Kate disobey Locke's rules and consequently endanger the safety of her fellow Losties, but she selfishly and ruthlessly extracts information from Miles. Information which is purely about self-preservation and self-interest. Not only is she guilty every crime the Feds want her for, but she is still unable to accept her fate. She also manages to con poor Hugo in the process and use Sawyer for the umpteenth time - ensuring that she had the 'upper-hand' over their 'pregnancy dispute', despite the fact that she was as equally relived as he was over the matter. Classic manipulation. Kate goes on to allow Jack to lie for her on the stand (of all places!) and shockingly she berrates her dying mother for dobbing her in after she (Kate) executed her partner in cold blood. Kate also manages to sink lower by refusing to pick Aaron up, thus forcing mother hen to multi-task.

JACK SHEPHERD

Despite only having a brief appearance in this episode, incredibly Jack puts the Jack in Ass, by lying on the stand. Let's get this straight - he LIED on the Bible, folks. This is wrong on all levels..oh, and he did it for Kate, so that everyone believed that she was a "hero" and so that she could get off punishment...punishment which she deserves for the crimes she has committed.

MILES STRAUME

A close one between Locke and Miles, but in the end Miles just about pips it - having the nerve to play two sides off against one another, this man is all about himself (didn't Hugo say he was the ships Sawyer!) - obviously he's not worried about his fellow freighties, telling Kate that he'll "take care of Charlotte" in a fashion which suggested execution. He commits extortion by trying to barter with Ben's life - holding the man to $3.2 Million Dollars. As Ben said, "why 3.2, why not 3.3, 3.4!?" -this man is not to be trusted, he's fickle and given half the chance he would probably go back on that deal if his employers offered him a cent more.

WHAT??! Where the hell is Locke?! That is ridiculous!! Imo, Locke was the villain of the series in that episode!! How on earth can you not put him in there?!

Definately Locke instead of Jack. I refuse to vote because i choose LOCKE.

Yeah, Locke was just pipped by Miles and Jack (who swore on the Bible and lied, for me that's BIG). All Locke really did was stick a grenade in a mans mouth, and whilst this isn't 'good', Miles had it coming

Yes that's fair enough, he probably shouldn't of done that, but in the context of the show he probably should. Someone made up that story for the O6 to say and their life is probably dependent on them sticking to it.

But Locke...where do i start?! He was just the biggest GIT in this episode, i'm sorry. He spent the whole episode ordering people around, making stupid rash decisions, making demands at everyone and generally being an arrogant twit (for want of a better word). He is suddenly acting like he is the boss of the island and everybody on it. "My name is John Locke and i am responsible of the wellbeing of this island..." i mean, what?! He is, as Ben put it "more lost than he's ever been". He doesn't have a CLUE what he's doing. He was bossing everyone about and acting like he is the king or something. He attempted to 'banish' Kate - who the hell does he think he is?! Everyone is equal on that island, and while its good to have a leader, that does NOT mean you have the right to 'banish' people. How dare he! Why the hell should Kate leave just because HE said so?! Then he had the nerve to barge into Kate & Claire's house completely uninvited, and be rude to everyone he came across. He ignored Kate when she went to his house and was SO rude to her, and basically acted like he didnt give two hoots about her, all because he thinks that he is always right. He was SO arrogant! And then to top it all off, he ties Miles up and sticks a grenade in his mouth!! I mean, come on! I cannot fathom why the hell he is not in this poll this week.

I want Locke on this poll! How does a guy put a grenade in someone's mouth yet not be one of the top 3 villans? (nice rant Lauren!). But if I had to pick between those 3 I'd choose Miss Austen.

I chose Jack, even though it was really tough between Kate and Jack.

If he hadn't lied to the Bible then Kate would NEVER had got off with just ten years probation.

It doesn't have anything to do with Kate going to prison. Ben is forcing Sayid to work form him in order for Sayid's friends to remain safe. It's very likely imo that Jack was told by Ben that story. To tell people that only 8 people survived. Why else would Jack lie about that? That story was more than likely cooked up by Ben for the same reason that he has Sayid being his hitman.

I think JB meant that Ben probably told them they had to stick to the 'Oceanic six' story and he made the whole thing up for them to say to everyone, not that Ben told Jack to cover for Kate. It's just that unfortunately for Ben, those 2 things tie in with each other.
