But Locke...where do i start?! He was just the biggest GIT in this episode, i'm sorry. He spent the whole episode ordering people around, making stupid rash decisions, making demands at everyone and generally being an arrogant twit (for want of a better word). He is suddenly acting like he is the boss of the island and everybody on it. "My name is John Locke and i am responsible of the wellbeing of this island..." i mean, what?! He is, as Ben put it "more lost than he's ever been". He doesn't have a CLUE what he's doing. He was bossing everyone about and acting like he is the king or something. He attempted to 'banish' Kate - who the hell does he think he is?! Everyone is equal on that island, and while its good to have a leader, that does NOT mean you have the right to 'banish' people. How dare he! Why the hell should Kate leave just because HE said so?! Then he had the nerve to barge into Kate & Claire's house completely uninvited, and be rude to everyone he came across. He ignored Kate when she went to his house and was SO rude to her, and basically acted like he didnt give two hoots about her, all because he thinks that he is always right. He was SO arrogant! And then to top it all off, he ties Miles up and sticks a grenade in his mouth!! I mean, come on! I cannot fathom why the hell he is not in this poll this week.

I thought it was close between Locke and Miles, but apart from the Grenade thing I don't think Locke did much wrong. Kate deserved to be banished - she openly jeopordised the safety of her fellows by releasing Miles! If that doesn't deserve banishment at this stage then what does? Remember, Locke is trying to protect his people - Kate was openly working against that, and so she had to go in the interests of everyone concerned. So I think Locke was completely right in his treatment of her - it's not like she's got nowhere to crawl back to - and Locke isn't making anyone stay where they don't want to be, or where they can't abide by the rules. The barracks thing is his gig and his idea - if other people such as Kate can't respect his rules then so be it - banishment must ensue.

As for the grenade thing..I can see why on the face of it people would want Locke in the poll for that reason - however, in the cold light of day I feel that it pales into comparison with what Miles did AND Miles casual approach to being where he was. Miles clearly didn't care about anything else except getting his money - he said it himself. I firmly believe that if you're really in dire straights then you don't go blackmailing someone for $3.2 Million dollars - obviously Miles needed a little introduction to the rules under Jonathan Locke - who is protecting his people and the island. If someone breaks codes of conduct as openly as Miles did, then surely one must expect some form of punishment? Perhaps Locke could have went about it a little better, however he was at the end of his teather and I really don't blame him, after the few days he's had, leading a bunch of ungrateful people and having to counter against those same people trying their best to jeapordise the safety of the entire group.

Nope, the group comes first in this situation and all threats must be curtailed.

Hope that helps to clarify my reasoning - defintely not biased - I nearly put Locke in, but his motives seem far better than Miles' at the end of the day

Um, when did we find out that Ben is "forcing Sayid to work for him"?? I think that's mightly speculative, and it could well be that Sayid 'wants' to work for Ben..

I don't know why you quoted that as if it came from Ben's lips.

As I said, that episode could just as easily allude to the idea that Sayid 'wants' to work for Ben, since he has now come around to his way of thinking. Infact (and i'm not kidding here), I do believe that is the more logical idea.

No-one forces Sayid to do anything he doesn't want to, and there didn't seem to be 'any' resentment shown towards Ben from Sayid. If he was unwilling then I'm sure there'd be some resentment or ill-will.. ;-)

I think this is a little harsh on jack and miles. Jack did lie, and on the bible, but considering it was (probably) out of affection for his friend i can kinda forgive him.

Also i dont think Miles' actions are motivated by greed. Theres more to him wanting the 3.2 than what we see on face value.

Doesnt really matter though, as kate was clearly the villain of this episode. I finally understand abbot now.
