I could be wrong but I would say Ben is in charge of the Others etc, but he has Shareholders - whom in a sense are his Boss but not quite. Just guessing here however.

I think it's interesting to compare the Miles/Ben encounter with the last time Ben (or Henry) had a visitor whilst being the Losties captive.

Mr. Eko knowingly cut of his beard and apologised to Ben for killing two of his people - Ben and Eko both knew what this meant - could both Ben and Miles both know what the 3.2 means?

If so this would indeed suggest that it's a code - however i'm just throwing this out their as it might help support that argument. Personally I would prefer it if Miles wasn't Ben's inside man. C'mon, it has to be Minkowski or Michael..or future Walt, I jest.

I never actually knew what Eko meant quite frankly in regard to the 'cutting' of his beard, except it was his own personal way of asking forgiveness. Off-topic here but it was rather strange how Eko did not want forgiveness from the Black Smoke yet he apologised to Ben.

I agree, hopefully the inside man is a 'big reveal' but I would not put it past Lost to make out Ben got to Miles from the very beginning [i.e. right after or even BEFORE his recruitment through indepth research].

3.2 is just awefully strange - why would anyone waste their energy saying "Point 2" when they could say "5" or "10" [million]. Perhaps it is code for 'something else'?, i.e. Miles is not the inside man but the 3.2 reference is demanding something?

Why so T.o.o? You mean the actual scene itself or the fact he was 'killed off'?

The scene right before that with Yemi is one of my favourite Lost scenes ever, but the scene with the Black Smoke was pretty good too though a little strange.

Maybe Miles knows they aint ever goona get of the island for a fair while at least. He knows he cud get off with 3.2million, as he seems a clever guy so had a contingency planned, as his employers seemed 'dodgey', when he was recruited.

Clue to that they might not being going anywhere for long time, is the studies they seem to have come to do with their skills, are usually longer term projects i think. And theres a lot to investigate!

Or maybe he is also trynna side with Ben, and this is the start of that.

I think if he genuinly is demanding $3.2 million, he will not get far in his quest for it. Ben will outsmart him in some way, as Miles seems too impatience and clumbsy. Miles has a fair way to go before his blackmail comes to fruition. Telling people of his plan was a very silly mistake.

Miles is quite the lucky individual, a Conman of sorts - he is recruited by Abaddon and the very man he is informed to capture has LOTS of money.

Well... I'm thinking we need to figure out the significance of his flashback. After all, the key to many things/motives in Lost is the flashback. He asks the dead grandson where the money is and finds a truckload of cash and drugs. Obviously, as people have said, money is important. But the way that he went and asked the dead kid where "it" was, that was very specific. The same is obviously the case for this. Specific. He obviously needs it for something particular, but mysterious.

I say "obviously"... But I also reckon it could just as easily be a code just as mentioned above :-)

I just realised he cud be saving towards smt for smt big (as hes aksing for millions). Thats why its such a precise figure, and why he took that drugs money.

Well one theory is did his research and KNEW the young boy more than likely had money in his room, i.e. to purchase drugs with or money earned from dealing.

But it was very specific I agree, but perhaps he could 'sense' the spirit had money - just as he used Naomi's body to find out what happened to her. But that particular flashback did not happen in Eggtown so any direct relevance to money is not 'necessarily' a given. Though it may be relative nonetheless

Perhaps he [for whatever reason] does not want to ask for anymore than he needs. In other words, he is not a greedy man; well not TOO greedy.

This made me laugh because I immediately thought of all kinds of silly ideas as to why he needs the money. But yes he obviously needs exactly 3.2 for something specific and not just for his bank account. Perhaps his REAL Boss needs $3.2 million and Miles did not want to ask for anymore because he himself does not want to steal from Ben. Which is contradictory of past actions because he stole from the young boy in the flashback, while possibly conning the Grandmother.
