So Jack said in court that 8 survived the crash.
We know theres the 'Oceanic 6'.

So whats happened to the other 2 in the lie, and who are they?
1 is most likely Aaron.

Dunno, but if they died wudn't they just be included in the rest of the persumed dead peeps from flight 815.

Well the said the Marshall died in the crash so it can't be him. Maybe they meant they died - too make it a bit convincing orits part of the cover up and its Michael and Walt??

he def said that 8 survived but 2 died. i'm thinking that 8 actually make it off the island to the frieghter but then 2 die. pretty certain that one of them is claire, desmond had his vision of claire getting rescued by a chopper which she does but then gets killed on the frieghter which is why kate has aaron in her FF. the bodies are on the freighter so the losties say they died on the island and they were bringing their bodies home.

but then if they were 'killed', it would be obvious that they didnt die of natural causes so maybe they are just embellishing their lie to make it sound more believable?

Well if 8 survived would not the Authorities want the bodies? Seems like an unnecessary risk to take as part of the cover-up by the O6.

This is what i'm confused about...why say that 8 survived but 2 died just after the crash?? Because that's what Jack said, that Kate saved the other 5 and tried to save the others but failed....why lie unneccasarily? Maybe just to give Kate more sympathy in court? Like to make her sound like a 'hero' - "Oh, she tried to save them but there was nothing she could do..." i dont know. Or Ben is telling them to say that, for whatever reason.

8 survivors - Oceanic 6 got off the Island - 2 of them supposedly 'died' on the island after the crash - Sayid is working with Ben to try and protect his friends - these friends could be the 2 - these 2 are more than likely still on the Island as they can't have been rescued or they wouldn't be recognised as having died.

Perhaps it makes the story sound more convincing and less suspicious perhaps? Agreed, it was definitely said to give her more sympathy; the hero that 'tried as she might', in vain.

I would presume Ben is behind the story of the O6.

I would imagine there are more than 2 still left on the Island, purely because wanting to return for only 2 people is not as interesting as having the majority of the Survivors are still there. The 2 Jack referred to was imaginary imo.

I think 2 people are killed around the time recuse comes, and they take the bodies with them as part of the lie.

It makes more since that some would die on a deserted island, and sounds much more believeable than "Kate saved 'em all!!!!"

I think Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Desmond, Sawyer, Claire and Aaron make it back to the frieghter... i then think that the story Jack told in court happens - that for some reason the helicopter crashes and they land in the water - kate rescues them - or most of them - not managing to save 2... the only thing we know for definite is that Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley and Aaron make it off the Island... meaning 2 out of 3 of the others dont make it... The only thing I can't work out is how Ben gets off because I dont think Jack's people would let Ben off with them!

I think Sayid is working with Ben to illiminate all the 'people' who are 'higher up in the chain' who know about the Island!!
