Well Im under the impression that as soon as you let go of the trigger, the whole thing goes up. Besides, Im pretty sure even if he did manage to kick it towards Locke, the blast range would kill him anyway. There would be no point if you wanted to surivive. Just hope that you have good strong jaw muscles and try not to swallow.

Grenades are timed (otherwise, you'd not be able to throw them very far) usually between 5 and 8 seconds. Although I'm no expert on them...

I'm not sure if I'd have had the guts to try and kick it away, but I'd have seriously considered it...

In that case, no one would ever be able to throw it, as it would blow up an inch away from your hand...
It should have a fuse of at least several seconds once the trigger is released, as is my understanding based on much research in video games.

fair enough but kicking the damn thing after droping it out of your mouth (whose to say that they dont explode on impact) and then kicking it isnt going to get it out of your range in that time I dont think.

And according to M*A*S*H it's possible to put the pin back in and save the day. But basically I don't think people ought to be meddling with grenades quite so much.

Like I said to EPU above, I admitt I got that worng, but I dont think he would be able to kick it far enough away for him not to be in the blast range

plus, its easy for us to think of these things sat on a couch comfy at home but when you are under the stress of the situation, its not that easy. A lot of people forget the stress of the situation when crictising people for making descions, imoral or overwise. Just a general point there.

Well I never said kick it. I'd rather just drop it directly out of my mouth, making it easy for Locke to pick it up and put the pin back in (although according to Quake, that's a bad idea), or throw it away.

I don't think I'd be able to kick it accurately (out of the door) or far enough while tied up...

In reality, I'd probably be too chicken to try such a stunt, you're right, but then you never really know how you'd react in such a situation. I don't think anyone was really criticising him.

No I meant the last bit as a general thing that people on here forget when crictising others. And the kicking thing was EPUs idea. And I think the spitting it to the floor idea relies on Locke having quick reactions and is too risky.

Riskier than trying to hold down a grenade trigger in your mouth for an undetermined amount of time?

I think if it is live, Locke is paying attention, and likely to do something about it.

I actually think yes it is really. I mean at least you know that the trigger hasnt been relased. And you dont have to worry about Locke having to catch a grenade thats bouncing about the place wildly and could go anywhere - and might even explode on impact. im sure it aint gonna just rest neatly at the floor at his feet and migh bounce around somwhat, making it harder for Locke to react to and put the pin back in time.
