Why Does Jack Not Want To See Aaron??

I found it strange that Kate invited Jack over, yet he refused Does he now know that Claire was his sister, so would find it too weird to see Aaron? Or perhaps Claire makes it to the frieghter but is then killed off there, that could be a reason Jack wouldn't want to see Aaron, because claire put her trust in jack for rescue, but was killed. Meaning another crying scene were he blames himself. Or maybe he just doesnt want to be reminded of the crash/cover up But then he wouldn't want to see kate

I'm thinking it's either:

Because he finds out Claire is his sister; and Aaron his nephew.
Or because Claire does die (sorry esn!) and Jack - in typical Jack fashion - tries with all his might but can't save Claire from certain death
Or (hidden possibility number 3) Claire sacrifices herself to save Jack and Aaron, and Jack blames himself... again

I kind of think if it was just the first one, then Claire would have asked her bro Jack to look after Aaron...

So, again, more bad signs for Claire

I think, regardless of weather or not Jack knows of his relation to Claire (and thus Aarron) he may have difficulty in letting go of any guilt that he has over the fact that Claire is dead or has been left on the island for some reason.

Id speculate that Jack was somhow responsible for Claire getting killed, or failed to save her.

Perhaps he did an Ana Lucia Shannon type thing on her?

Maybe she gets some information or something that the rescuers are here to kill them, but claire and co. wont listen. Didn't Kate say to jack in the flashforward, 'I know why you dont want to see him,' Perhaps he knows what she's done and is a bit dissapointed in her? This would mean Claire lives

I think that's a bit hopeful. Surely Jack would be a little more than 'dissapointed in her' ? I'd think he'd want to see Aaron in that situation, to make sure Krazy Kidnapping Kate is looking after the poor blight?!

Maybe, but perhaps he agrees in a sense that she's saved his life, but disagrees with the methods. It wouldn't be the first time

Whatever has happened to make Aaron be off the island without Claire...it's not a good omen. He's now being 'raised by another'. Richard Malkin would be spinning in his grave (if he were dead...).

I think it's a blame issue. I don't see why the knowledge that Aaron's his nephew would be enough in itself to freak him out.

I think its bad, this is prob how Ben recruited Sayid into working for him. He hinted about thinking with his heart not his gun.

Another possibility could be that they struck a deal with the others/frieghters/who knows that Aaron could leave but Claire had to stay for some reason, although this would not expalin why Jack was reluctant to see him Well in some ways I am glad it is Aaron and not Kates baby that I thought she had with sawyer which is why i thought Jack was releuctant to see the baby - didn't they play it like that? (it took me a while to figure it was Claire's Aaron!!) - But then when the implications for Claire hit me I was like oh

Okay here is another possibility. Jack has a ton of resentment towards his father as it is. He must know by this flash forward that Claire is his sister. Jack gets angry at everything. He most likely harbors some resentment towards Claire and Aaron as well and refuses to accept them as his sister and nephew.

I am so glad everyone has seen this episode now. I saw it last Thursday and have been going crazy waitiing to hear everyones thoughts.

Surely people think Jack is the father of the baby... thats why, in Jack's lie he says "not anymore" instead of "no, never" in regards to loving her.

So surely to get back into Kate's life... which he is trying to do... he must assume the role of the responsible father... something he fears he cannot do... or else he's afraid he'll try to fix it too much.

Jack: Aaron? You're watching TV again? I'm going to fix you!!!
