Default The holy Quaran

Ok, so after a lot of pausing and closing my curtains to the sun, i managed to see the title "The holy quaran" on the book thats on shelf that leads to Bens secret room.

This is quite interesting, it cud mean that Ben has had his eye on Sayid for a long time. Wud not surprise me that Ben wud look in2 every aspect os Sayides life, and religion is big part for them peeps.

What u guys think?

This is prob me lookin in2 things too much.
But if you take the numbers- 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42.
Working out the diff between each- 4, 7, 1, 7, 19
and again- 3, 6, 6, 12
and again- 3, 0, 6
and finally- 36

Wikipedia says about no 36 this:
Quote:
According to Jewish tradition, in every generation there are 36 righteous people (the "Lamed Vav Tzadikim") in whose merit the world continues to exist.
Quote:
According to the Midrash, the light created by God on the First Day of Creation shone for exactly 36 hours; it was replaced by the light of the Sun that was created on the Fourth Day.
Quote:
If you were to add up 1+2+3+4+5+6... All the way up to 36, the end result would be 666.
Cud be interesting. Second quote refers to Daniels comment about the scattering of light.
4.03 showed us theres a definate religous connection, though it was more towards the Quaran, but there were other religious books on that book shelf.

Who knows, maybe people must remain on the island for the normal world to continue to exist.

Also, for the year 36BC
Quote:
3 SeptemberBattle of Naulochus: Octavian's fleet, under the command of Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa defeats the forces of the rebel Sextus Pompeius, Lepidus, who faint heartedly came to support Octavian, lost his army to Octavian when his men mutinied, and was then kept in luxurious captivity in Rome until his death.
Interesting Lepidus is mentioned. Apparantly a very common name in Roman times. A hint maybe?

All very interesting stuff and if I were a betting person I would imagine this "kind" of thing to appear in Lost - mystical, religious, magical goings-on etc. It is this kind of thing that puts my faith into Lost delivering - i.e. that unworldly pay-off where we are given such an amazing and powerful explanation of things.

Though I am not sure how 36 is relevant via the means you obtained it, however.

Regarding Ben; I think he is an amazingly intelligent man - knowing things about all religions and what have you. To kill him would be a terrible waste - even if only to drain him off information and knowledge before doing away with him.

I was bored, so thought i wud see if there was a formulae to the numbers (prob already been tried long ago tho i expect). I just worked out the difference between the numbers. In maths the first line of differences wud be the N squared, then N to power 3, then N to power of 4. But as i went all the way down to 3 and 6 there was still no pattern.
Then i thought i wud search on the no 36.

Also interesting that when i searched the correct spelling of Lapidus it came out with this. Lapidus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
Lapidus is a Jewish family name derived from the Hebrew biblical male given name Lapidot, husband of the prophetess Deborah (Judges 4:4)...
Also the thing about the 36 rightous people i mentioned from Jewis religion links in with the name Lapidus. Hmmmm.

I suppose there could be alot of relevance in finding the difference between The Numbers because the numbers are 'certain' numbers for a reason and the 'spaces' must be important one would think.

Alot of names from Lost have always been linked with religion, mythology and important Historical people and surely it MUST be for a reason. The Lost producers have done some immense research for the show.

The Numbers were explained in the Lost Experience but I have not read what they mean so I am often reluctant to discuss them.

Re: Lapidus - "torches" or "candles". Interesting. Perhaps this means Frank is the light by which they use to get off the Island; i.e. using light in the dark to find a way.
