I never understood Jack getting mad at Kate, he risked Sawyer's life. But in my defence, that was Jack being Jack. He simply had pent up aggression from being locked up like a dog.

Sawyer has treated Kate quite appallingly in the past whereas Jack has always been a friend to her.

I still think that Jack's original plan was always to just let Ben die, but after he saw Kate get with Sawyer he decided that he had had enough and wanted off the island so, based on nothing but purely selfish reasons, he agreed to do the surgery in exchange for a ticket home. Only after he'd had a while to calm down did he then think of using the situation to save Kate and Sawyer, but saving their lives - or the lives of the other Losties - wasn't his prime motivation...it wasn't what compelled him to agree to Ben's demands and save his life. What a guy you are Jack, what a guy!

I just think that Jack is inherently selfish, and if he didn't want to do the surgery and save Ben then he wouldn't, end of story, sorry to anyone who might die as a result but that's just tough.

I would say that Jack has treated her worse than Sawyer, what with not respecting or trusting her enough to carry the dynamite back in the S1 finale to shouting at her to stay put during The Hunting Party just because Sawyer had said he loves her. Sawyer treats her like an equal whereas Jack just controls her like he tries to control most of everyone else.

I can't even envisage J+K as a couple..I couldn't imagine Jack cuddling Kate or giving her a loving hug (I swear he's never even put his arm around her or made any tender motions, like he has with Juliet and her 'branding' for example), whereas I could see S+K happily goofing around and walking arm in arm together down the jungle trails.

Or maybe this is because J+K have never been in the situations that S+K have? I'm talking about the cages, where they were forced to find each other and were heightened by the fear of living on a Polar bear diet of fishbiscuits?

But yeah, I think Sawyer loves Kate more - as in if he'd stop being so selfish, he could love her more than Jack could. Jack just wants to fix things, and his 'love' for her is more obessession than 'love'. imo.

No I can't see Jack easily flirting with Kate or putting his arm around her in a care free way...I don't think such a thing would come easily to him, whereas it does to Sawyer. And I know that Kate - once again god forbid - defied him and came back to Othersville for him, all he seemd to do was shout at her.

No I guess Kate hasn't been in the same situation as she has been with Sawyer, but after they'd been together in the cage Kate more or less said that she loved Sawyer but not saying anything after Sawyer challenged her about fake saying it to prevent him from getting killed, but Kate still hasn't even acknowledged Jack's 'I love you' from the S3 final! If she really did love him, then surely she would have said it back or at least brought it up again instead of pretending it never happened! If I liked Jack even a tiny bit I would feel sorry for him that he'd put his heart on the line like that just to be ignored. But I don't, so I won't!

Yeah Sawyer definately loves Kate more than she loves him, and one of the reasons why I don't like Kate is that she still doesn't seem to have made up her mind between either Jack or Sawyer! The whole triangle is just tedious. I'm not a shipper at all, but based on what we've seen in the show Kate/Sawyer seems to make a whole lot more sense than Jack/Kate.
