Did anyone else get the feeling that Charlotte only started breathing once Locke started looking for her pulse? It doesn't really make sense, of course, given that she was wearing a vest (Unless we're to assume the bullets gave her a heart attack?), but it was certainly the impression I got from that scene.

Perhaps it was shot like that to imply that the Island is somehow channelling its healing powers through Locke - bear in mind Ben thought he had him to thank for the recovery of his back.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

At first I was like whoa he healed her, but then I remembered she was wearing a vest and was like, oh. I did get that impression though...

I hope not. Not sure I could stomach much in the way of 'Locke as messiah' imagery. But I do like the idea of its being a false image - as in 'Lo, he is the saviour, ah, no, that'd be the bullet-proof vest'.
