Default Miles - "So where is it?"

Just something that occured to my dad while we were watching this episode for the 3rd time - could Miles possible be talking about the island??

If you remember, in Miles' flashback he was in a bedroom in the old woman's house, trying to make contact with her 'murdered' grandson. People have suggested that the grandson in question is Eko. Have a read of this...

Miles is in the car beforehand listening to the news report about 815 being found. But he can contact the dead, right? What if he somehow knows that the 'wreckage' is a fake one? Ok, so we can assume that the murdered grandson is in fact Yemi. It can't be Eko because he wasn't murdered - the woman probably would have found out that he was on the plane when they found the 'wreckage', and if you remember Yemi was actually murdered. BUT Miles knows that Yemi's brother was on the plane. He gets a call from their grandmother, who thinks it is Yemi's spirit which needs to be 'set free'. But REALLY it's Eko's in the room, and Miles knows this. So he goes upstairs and simply asks "so where is it?" What if he's talking about the island?? Obviously we are supposed to assume that he's talking about the money/drugs as thats what he finds, but we dont know what else he 'hears' while he's in that room. And of course he soon ends up on the island. How did he find it? He could have got the information from Eko.

Any ideas...i'm sorry if i haven't explained that properly, i'm pretty crap at clarifying things. But i hope you get the general idea. Any confusion just ask and i'll try to clear it up...

I think he was on About the money
because firstly he would'nt have known that yemi was on the island

secondly eko would never tell him because he is not the kind of man to do this

thirdly they wouldnt even know where it was

as ben said to locke "god can't see us any better than the rest of the world can"

sooo thats my view

But the woman who's house Miles went to was in America & if I remember rightly had an American accent. Yemi & Eko lived in Africa & had African accents. Just thought it would be a bit strange if the murdered grandson was either of them because of the American/African thing. Could just be me though.

Yeah i thoughtt this aswell
I don't see how it could be eko
just because she was black and the pictures were of a black kid

i could be wrong and it could have huge relevance
but most likely not, and it was most likely just one of those things

Yes but he wasn't communicating with Yemi, he was communicating with Eko. The grandmother was referring to Yemi, but Miles may have somehow known that Eko was Yemi's brother. And he went to the house to ask Eko where the island was. If that makes sense.

Yeah i know, its just that people have been saying that they think it's Eko, and i was basing this theory on that assumption. So it might not be true, it was just a thought.

Also, it could relate to the photo frames changing when Miles comes back down the stairs (see other thread). There is a saying that says that when someone finds out new information "the picture changes"

i thought he was asking about the island too at first but then he was obviously led to the money, so that threw me from that thought. the boy in the pictures definately has some relevance to the mysteries of lost but i dont think it has anything to do with eko or yemi, simply because the house was in amerca

My mom said Is he on about the island! It's weird how parents notice things I think that he was on about the island, because i dont see the point in showing us him stealing some money, if all the other freigher flashbacks are connected to the plane & Dharma

I too WANTED some relevance to the Island but D-Roc convinced me Miles was there for the money because he had done his research and knew the young boy probably had money in the house.

The Grandmother would DEFINITELY have an African accent so my theory the boy in the picture is NOT Eko, though they look alike imo. At best the woman could have been an Aunt who travelled to the US as a young lady. Alas that is not the case.

In each flashback the 4 Freighters are "connected" to the Island in some form or another and I think the relevance here is probably Miles himself as opposed to the boy or the picture frame though the latter is also significant. The changing of the frame was to signify Miles' future on the Island; his 'connection' - just as we saw with Daniel who had suddenly felt a unknown connection.

IF Miles wanted to know where the Island was then perhaps the spirit told him TWO things; where the money was AND the Island. Though not even a well financed company [The Freighters, Penny] can find the Island, how on Earth would Eko or Yemi know?

I cannot really explain the scene anymore myself but that is as best I can do.
