What the problem is and what needs to be solved is this distinct lack of communication of true people and ideas they have to each other.

Funnily enough, the Survivors in a sense are the NEW Others as far as The Freighters are concerned. Or atleast that is one way of looking at it.

The Freighters were met with such hostility from the Survivors in 4x02 and it will be their "stubborness" and "bad attitude" which will harm their escape from the Island I feel. This is not really the most coherant arguement but there we go.

I just feel the Survivors are not really as 'good', clean and 'wholesome' as individuals [or group for that matter] to really state they are so very different from the Others in terms of good and bad.

You are correct - Locke did, in One of Them. He said it to Sayid, in reference to Danielle's viewpoint.

JACK: I think that Rousseau thought that about you once, Sayid. If I'm not mistaken she strapped you down, she shocked you, all because she thought you were one of them.
LOCKE: He is.

LOCKE: He is one of them. To Rousseau, we're all Others.

It was a pretty good line I feel. I recall Pickett saying "them" in S3 referring to the Survivors which made you realise they see the Survivors as "others". Not really important however.

I said that line in quotations because Locke says it in season 1. Its called intertextuality, and using an embeded quotation from the text in hand to support my point in an exhilerating way.
