That's pretty interesting, nice spot! Like someone else said, i dont think it can be a continuity error because someone would have to actually change the frame. Interesting...it's probably something to do with the fact that the spirit is sort of 'between places' and not at rest, but when Miles is finished the spirit is at peace.

Which ignition key are you referring to? Oh wait do you mean Miles' ignition key as I seem to recall seeing it though cannot remember it exactly. What was on it?
Welcome to the forum btw ![]()

Hi thanks for the welcome!
Yes Mile's ignition key, I believe the producers put this shot in as a hint to time the scene around when Desmond hit the failsafe. The pictures change their frames from when Miles goes upstairs then down. I think this is because a new "timeline" has come into effect. I am currently trying to work out if the other new characters flashbacks are placed at the same time ie when desmond hits the failsafe and if clues are giving towards a shift in the timeline, maybe Faraday weeping for some unknown reason? Anyway in this timeline Jack's dad for example may not be dead which could explain Jack's wanting to get back to Island, he knows that things are wrong, not the way they are supposed to be, maybe Sarah is dead in this timeline?? Who knows |

An afterthought
This shift in a timeline could also explain why the plane was found in the ocean, in this timeline the plane did not land on the ocean, it crashed in the sea. It may not have ben brought down by desmond's actions in this timeline but the universe has a "way of course correcting". Maybe lol. Would be interesting to know if any of the new characters were on the plane before this possible timeshift and had died unaccounted for but in the new timeline for some reason were not on it. |

![]() Ahh yes, someone mentioned the comparison but now it makes more sense. I would imagine the flashbacks for The Freighters roughly happened around the same time as Matthew Abbadon would have tried to recruit people in quick succession one would believe. The Daniel scene where he cried is actually very interesting, we discussed it in one of the other threads. He suddenly experienced some "unknown-subconscious" emotional attactment to the Flight 815 wreckage. It makes sense that Desmond changed the timeline, though did we see any changes in Charlotte's flashback? Nice idea, perhaps after the FF with Hurley, Jack began to notice things were wrong, though how would returning to the Island correct this. Desmond can only time travel the once I would presume. If Desmond went back in time BEFORE Christian died then yes Christian may still be alive. Jack - "get my Father down here right now" - S3 FF.

Unless, when Desmond time travelled TWO planes were created - one crashing on the Island and the very "same" plane also crashing into the Sea where our Suvivors perished. You have confused me with that last bit - new characters dying unaccounted for? You mean two sets of Freighter people? Only problem is they arrived on the Island AFTER Desmond changed the time line whereas the Survivors crashed BEFORE Desmond changed it, in turn we have two sets of Survivors but only one set of Freighters. A little confusing but I hope that makes sense. Though Frank seemed to believe the plane was a fake because he phoned the hotline complaining the Pilot was a fake.

Welcome to the forum, Mariusuk - interesting mention of the frame being a nod to 'time-frames' being altered. I like that.
Some people here have suggested similar things in relation to time being altered the moment Desmond turned the key (particularly before this season started). I think it's possible, although I also have alternative ideas on why the freighties are seemingly connected. However the powers that be, do seem to want us to observe the time-line and look out for possible indicators - the picture frame you mentioned, and the restoration poster both allude to this idea. I'm still not sure that Christian is alive however - I'm prepared to be wrong, but I'm not sure that was the implication from Jack's 3.23 forward flash. I thought (and still do think) he was being sarcastic and bitter. Although on the flip-side, Christian being alive in an alternate time-line could make sense (although were would the 'changes' end?).

Desmond seems to hold the key to it all I reckon, they will get back through his actions I predict. Maybe Desmond now has the time travelling ability and is trying to manipulate events till he is finally with Penny?? It is possible Desmond is Jacob, hell with this show who knows lol Ok to many ideas in my head at the moment I'll stop hehe |
