Gas masks? Red bio-hazard bags? revenge

Just noting that box with the gas masks and the red bio hazard bags - I cant find a pic anywhere. Just wondering about the possablity of Ben being right about the Frieghters - that they are Dhrama and they want to re-claim the island - and they want to do it with a dose of irony by reclaiming it the same way that they lost it - by gassing the life out of everyone in a mass genocide attack?

Well if that were the case I am sure they would not have randomly dropped that box into the Jungle but I am intrigued as to what that box is for.

On a side note, I am still trying to get my head around all of this. Could they really be Dharma? I need to give this more thought.

I think Daniel was very uncomfortable when Kate discovered his box - despite he genuine nature, he appears to know 'some' of what their true objective is..and the extent of that objective.

It seems that they are aware that Ben has (or had) an army..it would indeed appear that they intend to purge Ben and the Others, in the same fashion that Alpert and Ben did with the Dharmafreaks.

Again, this show loves parallels!

The thing is, if Jack (for example) had to watch this happen, I bet he wouldn't let it go ahead..he'd try to stop Ben from getting killed - he probably wants that honour for himself.

In all seriousness, it is an interesting plot device - although as sick as it is, at least they don't appear to be hiding their actual intentions - although I suspect it does go deeper than simply killing/capturing Ben -..I mean..a Ghostbuster?

'Neo-Dharma', I like to call em. I guess we have no hard proof - although the fact that this seems VERY personal, suggests that they have "history"..

Of course it could also be a rival faction, Hanso, or a completely unconnected group..

I guess it's all possible at the minute.

I think it could be a pointer toward The Freighters being "linked" to Dharma - I mean how many people have this kind of thing in their possession?

So were Dharma involved in the plane crash, if so, why? It is all very puzzling tbh.

So the original Pilot was working for Dharma? If Frank works for Dharma why did he phone the Oceanic hotline - surely they want to fake the plane crash, yet here is Frank pointing out the Pilot was a fake.

I wonder who faked the plane in the Ocean and how they are connected with Minkowski's people, Dharma and the Others.

My head is a mess.

The biohazard suits reminded me of Kelvin and his yellow suit. Rather than the freighties planning to gas the island occupants, maybe they were simply planning for the possibility that there may be bio-hazardous material on the island that they were going to be exposed to.
if they knew about Bens 'purge', they may be worried about exposing themselves to the gases. maybe they are there to Ben to make him accountable for all the people he killed.

You would assume that they woud have been wearing the items pre-landing - which may indicate they are to be used for a Purge.

Ben is obviously wanted for crimes to Humanity or something along those lines and killing [or help in killing] Dharma is obviously on his list of crimes.

Hmm, personally I wouldn't have said so - although I probably did blame them for that once upon a time. But as it stands it wouldn't make sense for them to be responsible for the 'crash' of 815..although it is feasible that they wanted change from within..(but that gets waay to complicated!)..or to test the water, as it were. Although how would this explain the notion of fate and coincidence within the show? ..unless the premise is that Dharma have found a way to control elements of the past, the present and the future. I guess with time-travel this is 'possible'.

But yeah, I would think that if anyone, a third party were involved..

Although I do like the idea of 'fate' bringing 815 to the island..of fate triggering this chain of events which collides head on with freewill and human interest.

I used to think tha Seth was 'in on it' - however in retrospect i'm not so sure now. It seems as though he was an unwitting pawn in the chain of events...a facilitator, if you will.

Hold on, I think I know what you're referring to - you're referring to 'Frank', right? Well, my view is that he wasn't working for anyone in the scenes that we saw - none of the 4 were imo. What we haven't seen is when they presumably get recruited by....whoever this company is.

When Frank phoned the hotline he was an unwitting civilian..it was later that they decide to either bring him in, or send him on a mission without the entire truth behind that mission. Again, it would seem that in order for certain things (relating to the island) to be done, certain people..people with a gift, or within the sphere of related chains of events, need to be involved.

That's my opinion at least

I thin either Mathews people..or a rival organisation faked the plane crash ( I think we have 2 groups..Dharma and another group..though i'm not sure who is on who's side..although after this eppy Mathew seems to be related to the freighties, so they're probably all on the same side, as it were).

Or, hows about Ben's "magic box"..Ben needed a surgeon and ones falls from the sky..Ben didn't want Jack to go home, Locke comes striding through the jungle..Ben doesn't want the island discovered and an 815 plane wreackage ends up on the Sundra Trench..and so it goes...

But yeah, this whole thing is a brain basher! (wouldn't have it any other way though!)
