Polar Bears in the Desert

Not my theory, (mate of mine who studies biology and cloning)

So we know that in the Orchid station, there's something weird going on; during the filming of the video, Edgar Hallowax is holding rabbit #15. Suddenly, a copy of rabbit #15 shows up, and Edgar says, "Don't let them near each other!" and alarms go off.

What if the Orchid station also tested this strange experiment on the polar bears? What if an identical copy of one of the bears randomly appeared in the middle of a desert?

i think i understand. i like the idea of cloning, it would kind of make sense. But the dharma logo on the collar was the hydra, right? that was where Jack was kept in the big glass cage thing? if that was where the polar bears were kept, it makes you wonder why they needed a table.

The Orchid hasn't been seen in the canon of the show. Luckily, I don't consider this a spoiler.

Time travel, cazmir effect..all possibilities.

We also have to consider that Dharma most likely found a way for Polar bears to live in tropical/dessert climes - this is pretty much proven due to the Polar bears on the island.

However, what specifically interests me, is not the fact that a Polar Bear skelton was found in the dessert...but that it appears to be many many many many many years old. This was an arcehological dig - like the dinosaur kind. Which further begs the question - how did it get there!? Presumably it's remains where pre-Dharma..so the only thing I can think of right now is either time-travel..or a fake (to lure Charlotte) - although that seems unnecessary.

The time travel (and that sort of thing) is perhaps the most likely considering the presumed age of the remains..

Dharma have been busy.

Also if they could send a Polar back in time..they could send humans back (and perhaps forward) in time too.

Amazing the amount of cut and splicing they could do to history..much like their Dharma vid edits - great metaphor methinks.

but i have no idea how one of them got all the way to a desert in tunisia

maybe they flew or they were desiging some kind of heat-standing polar bear so they wouldn't become extinct with global warming. not that it would matter because they would just drown with the rest of us anyway

Is this Orientation video going to actually appear in Lost or was it just something created for Comic Con?

I would not necessarily say the remains were old as a body could be covered with sand in literally seconds/minutes.

Crazy thought, but what if the Island USED to be somewhere on Earth? - essentially making the Island situated in the past. Then again the remains would have been MUCH deeper.

God only knows what would happen if they start sending animals or people back in time - it could have disasterous effects for Mankind.

My bet is it was an experiment gone wrong - time travelled in the wrong location.

I believe it was first aired at Comic Con..not sure if it will appear in Lost, I wouldn't have thought so though. It seemed very ARG'ish to me.

True, it could have been placed there recently - however, I believe that the incinuation from the scene is that it was a genuine fossil - i.e. it had somehow been there for many years - which in itself leaves my curious, because it suggests time-travel or time-loops..and whatsmore Charlotte seemed to be looking for 'it'. It's almost as if she knew it was out there somewhere - the look on her face when she uncovered the Dharma logo was one of "My precious!" (aka, she had found evidence to support her theories..) - least that's my interpretation, could be wrong.

Now that is interesting! So you're suggesting that the islands present is always behind that of the real worlds present?
