'Are They Still Alive' - Are Who?

So, last week Hurley was asked the question of if they were still alive and here the same guy turns up again but it hadn't occured to me before that he might not be talking about the Losties or the Others at all, but about his own people.

As Ben wants to survive at any cost and Jack wants to get off the island at any cost I can see a scenario where they join forces. If Ben has someone on this boat, maybe get Jack to work with him to overpower the ordinary Frieghter people and use it to escape, as long as Jack takes him with him?

I'm not sure about the last part of going with him but... in general, plausible? It could explain what upset Jack so much in the end, maybe he had a similiar visit to Hurley's.

yeah i had thought the same about him asking about his own people still being alive after watching the episode though i wouldn't like it to become losties vs the freighties, yawn. plus i kinda like the freighties, so far so good.

i mean he was saying to naomi "there are no survivors"

Well my gut feeling is that he is refering to the 815 people - afterall Im suspicous about that guy (does he have a name btw?) and I think hes in on it. But it is perfectly plausable that he could be asking about his own people.

He's being referred to as Matthew Abbadon I think.

was that in the credits? must have missed it. I got a theory about him (well a couple really given his surname) but I really have to be going to bed soon so Ill have to write it tommorrow.

I think when he said "are they still alive?" he was referring to his own people - Naomi, Daniel, Miles, Charlotte & Frank. Because i dont think they get off the island.

He seemed rather cold last episode to me though, and surely he'd be pissed off with Hurley and not sounding sympahetic if he's wanting to know what happened to his own people.
