Alternate Episode Titles - 4.01

This is just something silly I thought I'd do for each episode - to give it an alternate episode title from the one the creators gave it - you can add your own if you like.

(I sense this will be a lonely thread)

My 4.01 alternate episode title is:

"Dividing Lines, Opposing Minds"

This is inspired by the divide in camp Lostie - with some of our survivors joining Locke, and others joining Jack. The title is also based on the clear demarcation line between Locke and Jack, and those who want to get rescued and those who are not so sure rescue is coming.

The title is also inspired by Hurley - his crossing the line to 'see' Jacob, and Charlie crossing from the otherside to give him a very important message.

Great idea.

Based on the very basic titles we witnessed in S3, mine would have to be:

4.01 - "To Leave Or Not To Leave".

Terrible I know.

Thank you KW - though I urge you to have a stab, I am sure you can think of a good one. Perhaps a title in which you mock Jack for example?

I like "To Leave or Not to Leave" - it hits the nail on the head and is a sort of nod to shakespeare

Thank you. I was going to go for something silly but opted not to. Yours is very good too; could actually be an episode title. If it appears in S5 or 6 we all know where it came from. Who is to say the producers do not read this site.

Oh Reed, I'd be here 24/7 coming up with Anti-Jack titles/phrases/dissertation length ramblings if I got started, so I'll do you all a favour and try my best not to even think of the man!

Hmm, the only thing that, so far, has jumped out at me as being a possible title is 'Without Fail' (thanks to one of the books on my shelf), with possible regards to Locke giving his all to get everyone away from the freighter crew and to remain on the island, with Jack likewise giving his all to get everyone near the freighter crew and off the island, with Ghost Charlie not giving up on getting Hurley to not give up on 'them,' with Hurley doing everything to get away from 'them' and whatever he's supposed to be doing, with Naomi still not failing to contact her boat crew even with a knife in her back...things like that! And oh no, I actually thought about and mentioned Jack in all of that...

Edit: And Jack being, without fail, determined to kill poor Locke

Good point there, I suppose it is best you clear your mind of Jack.

Nice title - again another possible title for a future episode. Well Jack is nice to think about so you cannot escape such a thing. I feel mine is belittled now as it required 'little to no' explanation as it was self explanatory.

Well let us hope that Locke gets revenge on Jack sooner rather than later.

The only nice things to think about Jack are ones that end in him getting a good smack

No yours is good! The whole episode can be pretty much summed up about wanting to leave or not, since that's what caused the great divide between them all. My title was just randomly picked, and I then I had to try and work out a semi-fitting explanation for it!

As much asI would cheer if Locke gave Jack a nice smack round the face, Locke isn't like Jack and doesn't use his fists left right and center when he gets annoyed. Perhaps he could convince Team Jack members one by one to join him, leaving Jack once again crying and shouting in the middle of the jungle?

Unlikely however, as I cannot ever recall Jack getting punched. One can only hope; for your sake mind you as I hope he dukes and dives his way from any punches.

I just feel Locke is long overdue in being mean back to Jack [somehow], as he has taken quite alot of abuse from Jack and I feel sorry for John. It is rather undeserved purely because others are too ignorant to "hear him out" in regard to the Island etc. They would sooner believe he is crazy.

But yes Locke would never strike Jack though he is capable even if he is not typically the strongest man around. Perhaps he could achieve the dominant status of the two groups as you say.
