Well a major theme of Lost is addictions - Jack (possibly) to alcohol, Desmond (possibly) to the same though I doubt that one more, Charlie to heroin, Locke to being included, Kate to running, Sawyer to revenge, Boone to Shannon, Sayid to Nadia (case in point: Essam.)

I never noticed actually but the people with phsyical addictions have conqured them far easier than those with emotional addictions.

Ben - Because he doesn't want to leave.
Locke - Same as above.
Kate - Because I like her.

We know nothing about the circumstances in which the O6 leave so it could be anyone quite frankly. It is therefore hard to choose reasons for the following:

1. Jack
2. Kate
3. Hurley
4. Jin - [with Sun dying on the Island].
5. Sawyer
6. Claire [with Aaron]

For all we know Locke is MADE to leave the Island which would make sense if he were actually in the Coffin. He loses his best friend [the Island] and cannot find a way back. But surely Locke dead before the O6 return would be terrible for Lost? I would ideally like him to have the "fairy tale" ending and find his purpose.

Interestingly, the O6 become the O5 - obvious statement but interesting nonetheless.

I think Sayid would put helping his friends above finding Nadia again - he forgot all about her when dating Shannon afterall.

Ben - I suppose he could go from Leader of the Island to Manager at the local Wal-Mart. Though one would think Ben has connections and people to help him finish his work on the Island. Best bet would be for The Freighters to kill him.

Desmond - Sadly I can see him dying before leaving the Island as it makes the Penny storyline tragic.

Jules - Another possible victim - never to be reunited with her Sister.
