Why Did Locke Take Ben?

Jack can't even give people medical treatment without thinking about himself in some way a lot of the time... Yes, he only agreed to save Ben's life after he'd seen Kate get with Sawyer on the tv screen, and the first deal he made with Ben was to only get himself home; no immediate thought of using the opportunity to save anyone else, just himself first and foremost in his mind. Just one of many reasons why I can't stand Jack!

Of course Locke is selfish too, but in my view he's got far more understandable motives to be so than anyone else (especially Jack) has to be. But that's just a biased opinion of course!

i mean he needs to stay on the island to walk
that his selfish reasons for doing wat he has done

jack has nothing to go back to and is jus being selfish cus thats how he is lately

I think Locke thinks he can relate to Ben as they both have a connection with the island and they do see eye to eye on afew things.
Locke badly wants answers.

Yeah, I think Locke does see a bit of himself in Ben..although at the same time he also see's authority and knowledge..and Locke doesn't like authority unless he's part of it.

I think both men are very similar, but also very different - it's almost as if Ben is who Locke would be if Locke had been on the island for the same amount of time. Which is I think partly what Ben was getting at during John's 3.13 'pharacy' tirade.
