Danielle - a past boat person?

Is it possible that the French woman Danielle is a member of the same group as these boat people?

All we know is her boat crashed on the island and they were a scientist team, lets say working for Dharma for example , is it possible she was the last team from that company that made it onto the island and to try and take it over??

Is it possible Danielle did an agreement with the others to kill her team mates when she realised they were wrong about the island?

Seems strange she has sided with Locke, maybe to avoid meeting this new group as they might be wondering what hapened to their "team mates" 16 years ago.

Just a theory.

It's certainly possible. I don't trust a word that woman says.

I also found her little interaction with Ben most interesting. He definetly knows who she is..what I find confusing is the fact that he seems unwilling to out her to the Losties.

Yet he was so willing to out Naomi..

I wouldn't say this harms your suggestion, but it certainly complicates matters.

Ultimately I would agree that it's highly possible that these are her people who have just landed on the island. Obviously they have advanced further since she arrived 16 years ago (these people seem VERY advanced and specialised - although I suppose Danielle is aswell, for her time).

Another possibility is that this is a rival group to her people - perhaps she was Dharma and these are another group..perhaps an anti Dharma faction, a resentful Hanso alliance, or a completely different group.

I like your idea about Danielle killing her people because she changed her mind about the island and wanted to protect it..this could well explain why Ben is so unwilling to out her..this could indicate that he sympathises with her for this reason - same goals, different ends, kinda thing.

However, one thing which complicates this even FURTHER, is her SOS transmission - if she didn't want to be found, why did she record it in the first place..and then leave it running for 16 years? I thin this was briefly explained by the 'Looking Glass' jamming system, but still..why take the chance..why not destroy the radio tower if you so don't want to go back...

ALSO, just had a thought..what if the REAL reason for Rousseau not wanting to go back is because she knows what happens to people who leave the island..Lenny (okay, he wasn't on the island..but still), Sam Toomey (see Lenny), Hurley, Jack...

I think she wanted certain people to hear her message. Maybe she was unaware about the Looking Glass hatch and thought by changing the message help from her faction would come. She then needed the losties help to stop the jamming.

She "seemed" to know Mikhail too if you recall and he was comms man.

Danielle is most frustrating. We had to wait a whole half season from her seeing Alex to the reunion. She is the person i want to know most about now.

maybe shes annie from bens past?
we dunno wat happened to her

but then again it wudnt explain anything aftre that
unless shes jus really crazy and killed a group of people that were looking for dharma

i like that idea. everyone seems to be linked together so Danielle has to be linked with it all too - not just by Alex. I refuse to believe it was just a random accident.

I like this idea. I get the feeling she knew some of the Others before, especially Ben. If I remember rightly she avoided an encouter with Mikhial in "Enter 77" saying she'd survived by avoided those kinds of encounters. Past link maybe? My theory is that she was sent with her team to help the Others, then killed her team because she wanted to switch sides or because they stole her child. I think the freighter people are coming to find remnants of Dharma and are on the opposite side to the Others, so technically the same side as Danielle in my theory. It could also explain why the Others Barracks (former Dharma headquarters) have a sonic fence for protection.
Is it possible the outside world found out about the purge and decided to send the freighter to come and investigate. "Every living thing on this island will die." Ben said. Maybe just every living thing associated with the Hostiles - who we know as the Others. Therefore Alex would be as well, it explains Ben's outburst.

yeh she must have encountered the others somewhere because of what she sed in "enter 77"
im pretty sure she will get a flash back
i cnt wait to learn more about her past on the island
they've left it 4 seasons so its good be bloody good
