Loophole in Locke's Plan

Was just thinking about Locke's plan to go to the barracks and buy sometime to think-up further details..

Seeing the freighties have an endless supply of helicopters, the "sonic weapon fence" wont be much help in preventing them from breaking in to O-ville and ransacking the place..since they can just drop people within the barracks security system..

I guess the freighties might not give two hoots about O-ville, but one would think they are there for information (and plundering)..and so they might have a hard time acquiring that information without Ben and the Others.

So, should they need to get answers, the barracks might not be the safest place on the island.

Still better than Jack's plan to run straight into Minkowski's open arms!

I guess we'll get a better idea as to the nature and intentions of these freighties in the next few episodes, but for now i'm hoping that Locke hasn't made a schoolboy error. I don't think he has, but it's my Lockery..I worry

I feel The Freighters' intentions are probably going to cause problems for the Survivors no matter what happens, as I am under them impression their arrival is due to the Others and/or the Island. Perhaps Jack will decide he does not like their intentions and decides to help Ben? I think Locke is safe so long as he does not get in George's way because George of the Jungle will obviously turn hostile.

Jack has Ben currently so perhaps if Ben is not cooperative they will invade the Barracks and all the stations on the Island. Worringly, Locke and his team believe George and his people to be "bad" and I think their first encounter will trigger off a fight because of this. I can just imagine Locke firing off a shot the minute they arrive.

If anything, the Barracks will be a pleasant suprise in terms of a place to stay and will give the Survivors some of their humanity back. But one would reckon The Freighters will eventually target the Barracks due to it's size and importance.

No Alan Hansen is not on the island. I think its just a place to go for now. It will stop ground attacks but remember smokey could not jump over the fense so maybe it would stop missiles, helicopters etc as well who knows.

nah i think it things can get over it, like helicopters and stuff like that

remember that the losties scaled over it in like 5 mins
and the smoke kinda just tryed to get inbetween the barrier

so i think anything trying to get in above the barrier can

but i also think its just a safe place for the moment

The losties got over by going directly over the pylons separating the field... we don't know how far the active bits go up into the sky... yeah it's not active right above the separators, but you can't get a chopper through that.

Imagine if a Chopper blows up as it flies over the Sonic Fence - that would be a sight. I know the Survivors climbed over it but maybe that was some kind of exception?

Chances are that Locke has made an error - after all, he wasn't with the survivors when Naomi dropped in so chances are he thinks they may just have the boats rather than the helocopters (I've probably forgotten him talking about the 'copters somewhere along the line.)

But if he wasn't going to be safe in the Barrack's then why would Ben have gone with him? Sure he's proven himself repeatedly capable of manipulating Locke and Jack's obviously in a trigger-happy mood but if he wanted to survive and there was any safer place, surely he'd have spoken up and made sure that Locke took him there?

well it is the safest known place on the island thus far
better than going to the caves or just camping in the jungle
so i suppose locke hasnt really made that much of an error tbh
theres no where else to go tbh

What about down in a hatch? Chances are the people on the boats might not know about the hatches but they'd be able to see the village.

The Arrow- Empty

Pearl- Full of TVs. No food etc. (also wondered about that)

Sawn- Blown to pieces (by Locke and Desmond)

The Staff- Empty (as far as they know)

The Flame- Blown up (By Locke)

The Decoy Village Hatch- Only Sayid knows about that

The Hydra- This one could happen. Although it is on another Island and Locke blew up the only way out there

The Looking Glass- Might not be big enough for all of them to get in.....

So no. The hatches aren't a good idea.

What if Locke wants his team to be caught. I mean he is making it very hard for them to hide/leave.......

But I didn't think about that last comment... why would Locke want his group caught though?
