Hurley was definitely affected most. I think Desmond was too .... except his reaction was mainly captured at the end of Season 3. Especially when Charlie gave him his list to give to Claire and when he saw Charlie through that window during his final moments

It's not, really. We saw when Ana died that Sawyer had a soft side and could comfort people, so you can't really use that excuse now.

As for this poll....I'd say Des. Going on the S3 finale.

What's this condemning of Sawyer for? Was it just me that saw the scene with he and Hurley in the jungle where he was really trying to comfort him? It was Hurley that refused comfort, not Sawyer not giving it. We know Sawyer doesn't show much outward emotion for deaths, e.g. Lulu, but we've seen him comfort Kate, Karl and Hurley (or attempt to) now.

Anyway I'd say Hurley took the news hardest on first hearing, but it will probably have a worse effect in the long run on Claire.

Jack did his "lowering his head" mode

Sayid did the "look away"

Des did the "sorry brother" line

Sawyer was like "sorry hes dead but...." although he did try and make it up to Hugo later

Jin was like ".." in fact it was the same face when Shannon died LOL!

I'm voting for Hurley, he was on such a high after saving the day but the two people he was closest to on the island, Libby and Charlie have now both gone and the poor guy doesn't really have anyone left to turn to.
Did Claire know about Desmond's death visions? Part of me thinks that she did but I can't really remember, if she did then she would have been partly expecting it so that might have numbed the pain a bit.

Saying all this though I think it's going to hit Desmond a lot harder over the next few episodes. With how he tried to sacrifice himself instead and tried to rush to the door to save him at the end.


And would Jin know what was going on much? How good is his grasp of English now? Chances are he might have just heard the name Charlie and then seen people's faces drop.

Yes Claire did know about the visions...

claire was expeting it so it wasnt as hard for her as it was for hurley
altho it was hard on her i think
i think we will see more of te effect on her through time

That might even effect her more than Hurley because of that; the only reason he died was so that she (and Aaron) could get off the island - not to help anyone else and looking at it that way I think that Claire and Desmond will end up blaming either themselves or each other (though hopefully not finding comfort in each other, I don't think I could stomach that pairing!)
