She was in a way because she said it was ironic those two choose themselves to be the beach morality police considering their backgrounds. Shes no better and I'm sure Sayid will be quick to point this out once Sawyer has told him what they did to jim on alcatraz!

7. T'was pretty good, just not as good as Not In Portland. And I've also re-named this episode The Long Con 2.

The major up-sides: Juliet gets better every time she's on screen. The interraction she has with Jack, Sayid and especially Ben is nothing short of spectacular. How good is Elizabeth Mitchell seriously? The video scene of Rachel was very sweet yet sad at the same time. Also liked her shooting down the "moral beach police" of Sawyer and Sayid. Hell even I knew that was being hypocritical. Mind you there is alot of that in Lost these days *coff* Ben *coff*. Oh yeah and "Three men and a baby. I counted Hugo twice". That earned the episode 4 points in itself.

The major downsides: Jack. The whiney, little hero git is back. I hope he realises what a fool he is, and that he should have listened to Sawyer and Sayid. Oh yes that campfire scene will come back to haunt him.
Ben. "You called me a liar Juliet. That hurt me" Oh dear, shall we stick to a deceitful, deceptive, hypocritical, self-centred, bug-eyed freak? Now I know there will be certain individuals already deceived by him that will go "Oh look, once again he proves he isn't a liar, he keeps his word, isn't he great". This man is a lying little creep! He is keeping Juliet on that island against her will. How can anyone condone that?
Finally the Long Con 2. Now I sincerely hope that this is a double bluff. And hopefully all the signs point toward it being so. I think it is and it was way too obvious for this just to be a straight out con by Juliet on the Losties. I hope she does come back to screw Bug-eyes over.

So yeah 7.

8 due to 4 reasons:

• The twist at the end
• The flashbacks
• Juliet
• And - of course - Claire being safe at the end

Juliet and her flashbacks were just brilliant compared to some we've been having. Excellent to see Ethan and Goodwin as always and after these flashbacks and learning more about her past I really like Juliet.
The episode was good anyway, but the twist at the end shot it right up. The discussion between Juliet and Ben was great. I wonder what she's going to do...

This was a great episode, and I'd rate it a very high 8.

The flashback more than made up for the awful Kate one we had last week, and there was some great island action as well. For all her lies Juliet is a great character, and Elizabeth Mitchell plays her so very well indeed - you could just feel how desperate she is to get home, and I loved how she put Sayid and Sawyer in thier place! Like everyone I'd had doubts if Juliet was telling the truth or not, and up until the very end I really did think that she had been cast aside by the Others.

Jack annoyed me no end this episode, with his 'if I trust her then clearly that's good enough, so why on earth are you even questoning that?' But I don't have time to go into that in detail at the moment...and likewise I don't have enough time to deal with all the (unjustified) Ben hate that's going around at the moment

But yeah this was a very solid episode indeed, and things are really stepping up a gear now.

Compared to some of the sinister grins Ben's treated us to, I think he gave us a mild one at that point

And it could be argued that Ben was taking advantage of an unexpected opportuniy when the plane crashed - it wasn't as if he was shipping in pregnant women to experiement on regulalry, and if one happened to land on the island then he wasn't going to let that go. Yes it does seem pretty awful what he's doing, but he could be doing it a lot worse, and what he did - well ordered - to be done on Claire was, he believed, a small price to pay in order to hopefully help other women in the future. Yes the acts themselves were bad, I'm not going to deny that because I can't, but I don't think that Ben's motivations to do what he did are as evil as most people seem to think.

It was *appalling*. Contrary to what Ben seems to think, nobody possesses the right to have children at the expense of other people's health and safety and free will. It's not a life or death situation and a lot of people in the real world put up with an inability to have children without resorting to either child theft or unconsenting experimentation on innocent passers-by. Personally, I think his motivations were absolutely dire.

C'mon, are these pregnancies part of the "saving the world" too? I don't think so. It's been pretty much implied that the reason people don't get 'cancer' for example, is because something on the Island causes the body to attack and destroy it, this is the reason why woman can't get pregnant; the body treats the unborn as a "tumour" or aggressive-foreign "object"....

Hey Ben, here's an idea - leave the island? Even if it's just during the pregnancy.

I mean think about it, he's kidnapping mothers to-be and implanting things into them/doing experiments on them. Any other occasion at any other time the guy would be labelled a mad man.

I should really get into this 'saving the world' business. Apparently it gives you freedom to anything you want

Exactly it's not like anyone was hung up by their neck to get at Claire was there? It's not like someone was killed. And it's not as if they put an implant into Claire that had the potential to kill her.... oh and it's not as if they could have just left the island for the pregnancy....

Oh wait.

I thought it was a laugh that after all this 'we're the good guys saving the world' it was all to give a couple of women the oppertunity to have a baby on the island.
