I guess this is more a general question considering bunny rabbits has been referenced in LOST for a long time now, but seeing as it was specifically mentioned in this episode, i'll post this here.
So..why did Dharma have such a facination with bunnies/rabbits? I'm thinking that there must be an underlying reason as to why they used rabbits for their time-travelling experiments? I mean why not hamsters or mice? Faraday had no quarms using Eloise
Are rabbits predisposed to the effects of time-travel or high levels of electromagnetism or something?
Perhaps it's to do with
fertility, in that we know the island hs issues in that field, and what with rabbits being
extremely fertile animals.........perhaps there's something in that?
Perhaps the rabbit connection is purely pop-culture hat-tipping, with
Alice in Wonderland being a favourite point of reference for the Lost creators, and as we all know Alice in Wonderland has big time-travel context..in particular the rabbit hole.
But then there's also
Donnie Darko -the classic film which also features heavy on the time-travel and the rabbits. Again, pop-culture hat-tipping, or is there more meaning to why the Dharma-freaks were so big on bunnies?
So what gives Dharma..?
