I think only Desmond and Penny share the true love and I am glad because I love Desmond and he deserves Penny more than anyone. He deserves that kind of love and as SP stated:
"Yeah it was really well done. And very emotional. This has also been said but it really does put the 'love stories' like Jate
to shame big time!! No other relationship, on or off the Island, has the same depth and longevity as Des and Penny."
I can't agree more!! These two make Lost so special and full of emotion!! If they ever decide to kill Desmond, many viewers will abandon Lost without a second thought, me among them!
As for the Jate love story, the way I see it, it doesn't even count as a love story.
I have never seen a more shallow relationship in the history of TV shows!
