Now of course I'm with Locke on this but you told me to see it through Jack's point of view and I have and I understand Jack's views and points. There's always two sides to an opinion.
No doubt..as you say Jack's stance is understandable..at least to an extent (imo). I agree that he's a man of science..but I feel that is too much of an excuse, because as we've seen with Sarah getting fixed, he's also experienced faith and miracles. Who is to say that scientific mircales aren't still miracles? It's almost as if they're men of 'different' faiths (Jack and Locke) rather than fields.

Even so, I'd support your stance on Jack, but he lost alot credibility when he said that Locke didn't move the island..he saw it move..how can he scientifically explain that one? EDIT: I realise that there are scientific possibilities for moving an island..but what I mean is..even if it was done by scientific means (and it probabaly was a hybrid of natural island properties and Dharma science)..it's still a miracle..it's still an amazing feat that would offer hope to mankind. Such a rare and momumental achievement would inspire and revive a floundering world.

Like I said above I can see why he has a hard time believing. If you saw somebody turn sand into glass and you were a man of faith you'd like OMG WOW!!! and instantly believe it was a miracle. But being a man of science you'd know it wasnt a miracle, it was just science. Now I know that doesnt compare to the miracles on the island but that's how Jack would see it.

Interesting point.

However, faith has the ability to turn disbelievers into believers. Having a certain mindset doesn't mean that you cannot change, that one would fail to be impressed with sand turning into glass (for example). I'd say, keep showing him miracles until he can't disbelieve any longer..that, or i'd say he's in denial and let him find his own way in his own time.

Nonetheless you make a good argument, because as I mentioned above..whose to say that science isn't faith and faith isn't science. Both fields produce miracles on a daily basis. Perhaps science is not the enemy or polar opposite of faith, but the tool given to man from God to allow more of us to believe in 'something'. I don't turn my back on the man of science..I simply remind him that his tools are miraculous.
