Very weird indeed.

It is quite scary actually - real life being speeded up like that is terrifying.
It is quite freaky!

I've been thinking about this, and wondering whether the tape rewinded because the process of moving the bunny rabbit forwards (or was it backwards?) in time caused the magnetic machinery inside the video recorder to rewaind.

So, basically, did Edgar Hallowax's experiment in time-travelling that bunny cause thet video equipment to rewind at the time of him making that video..and not anything that happened at the time of Locke watching it, if that makes sense..

But then that wouldn't explain why the tape didn't stop when Locke pressed the stop button..or why Locke himself sped up

This is most interesting. Perhaps they are alluding to the idea that WE the audience are metaphorically watching a tape..a film, and that the moment the 'film' reached the stage where it was about to jump forward in time (Ben preparing to turn the wheel), it encountered a glitch..causing Locke's film to rewind and our film to speed forward.

it's almost as if the film serves as a metaphor for the events that are being played out before us. which begs the question - who has their finger on the stop, start, rewind and forward buttons of the Losties?

There's no doubt that a game (so to speak) of sorts is being played out..who therefore is the gamer?
