I like him on screen
presence which makes him interesting, but yes I agree he is not
VERY interesting at all. I think it
suits the character and the character's
motives however.
I would be
really suprised if we saw a softer side to him in a
flashback, or for that matter in future episodes/
flashforward. Although we did see a nice side to him when we
first met him - but then again people can possess that
Duality, especially if you seperate work from personal life. I think as a person he is not the same and is purely doing what his job requires.
