I agree Keamy is a great character for the reasons you both mentioned.

As for the amount of men in Keamy's team - I counted 6/7..I think everyone survived, although on poor chap got his leg/face all mangled:
Interesting idea, though it does not make sense given Ben's state of mind at the time. But perhaps "first encounters" are limited in terms of what it can do. It could have been taking pictures of their minds as we have seen before, ready for future judgement.

I could not really make out his injuries in the episode or even in those pictures - I think some gruesome injuries would have fit in well into this episode.
