How much do you care about poor Jack?
Seems like poor Jack's got a dodgy stomach, but even if it turns into a full blown near death distaster that requires Juliet to cut him open to save his life, I fail to see where any tension or concern is supposed to come from us, the audience, since we know that he gets safely off the island and lives a healthy and happy life indeed up until he starts writing his own prescriptions again.
Jack will probably just use this as an excuse to be the first on board the rescue boat/helicopter/whatever when it comes, and no-one will argue against their fearless leader for doing so, what with everything he's done for them.
But Jack can't be that ill just yet, since we were treated to more of his shouting, violence and boring flirting with Kate, so we know he's still himself!
