Walt Scorned, People Mourned
Interesting that Walt should cast out his own father because he discovered that he sacrificed two women in order to get him back.
One wonders how he'd view Sawyer's: "That's for taking the boy" and subsquent execution of Friendly Tom..
It seems that Michael isn't the only Lostie who's actions - however veiled with motive - would sicken young Walt to the core.
Obviously Sawyer's murder of Tom is less understandable than Mike's murder of Libby and Ana - yet they both used Walt as the underlying reason for those actions. I think that Sawyer's excuse is feeble, because he clearly didn't kill loveable Tom for Walt..and even if he did, he didn't.
It should be interesting to observe how future actions are excused and whether the person/s who the action is said to be for, excuses/forgives the wrongdoer. After all, forgiveness - like redemption, is at the heart of Lost..and perhaps being forgiven by a person is just as important as being forgiven by the island itself.
With that in mind, is Mike partly suffering because Walt hasn't forgiven him, and the island has subsequently tapped into that. Or is the island's governance independant..
If it is independant then it is interesting, i feel, to consider why it let Mike leave in the first place. Why present him with the illusion of freewill, only to snatch it from him the moment Walt decides to pull a hissyfit. Unless, of course, it's all part of the chain of events..one player leaves the field of play only to re-enter the game with new perspective - perspective which can only be gained by leaving and then returning to the island which 'glasshouses' perspective..and time.
