Alex hates her father, so much so that she have John Locke gun before their walk to Jacob's-ville - imagine giving a gun to your fathers opponent? Imagine what it must take to do such a thing.
Sure, Alex feels that her father is dictating her life for her, she can't see past her teenaged angst, but still, it took some doing and said alot about her feelings towards Ben.
With that in mind - as well as her other anti-Ben actions which I wont bother mention - it made me laugh when push came to shove and she willingly declared herself as "Ben's daughter"..
She said it with such pride and gusto, obviously knowing that this could save her life. But the thing is, she had just lost Karl (not to mention Roussy) - the 'love of her life',
apparently. Now if Karl meant
that much to her, as we were led to believe, would she so quickly re-affirm herself as 'Ben's daughter' to save her own hide?
I mean doesn't it say something that when push came to shove, she wasn't prepared to follow her 'love'
romeo and juliet-esque into the afterlife, instead choosing to screw whatshisface and mother dearest and declare her sudden 'pro-Ben' stance.
I guess when all is said and done, she's daddy's girl afterall

There might be hope for her afterall
