Yeah I agree. It would explain why the plane was split in the same way. It could be because Ben doesn't want the plane to be found... And I doubt he went body harvesting as soon as it crashed. I think maybe it was a case of grabbing as many Jane and John Does as possible. The bodies would have to be fresh or else some genius would be able to tell they were fake.
