I've mentioned this a few times during the hiatus, and I agree it seems very likely - especially after this episode.
He does seem to be 'stuck' in 2 (or more) places, unable to anchor himself to the island present.
I would think that the "help me" Jacob is 'stuck' in the past rather than the future, since he "hates technology" and lived in a ramshackled abode etc. Although who knows what direction they will go in.
I'm not sure about Jack - I don't think he's suffering from
quite the same thing as Minkowski, Desmond and possibly Jacob (although it is a nice idea) - I do agree that Jack has a deep connection to the island and needs to feel his way back to his 'hook' (if you will), but I think it's slightly different from a "constant" issue in the way that we've seen in this eppy
Although FF Jack certainly seems to have lost
stability, things still appear to be 'familiar' to him - which wasn't the case with Des and to a larger extent Minker's.
