As brilliantly pointed out by
Toby in
this thread, there seems to be a distinct lack of
'the numbers' in S4.
I mean, they've had plently of opportunity to drop them in - instead they've chosen to go with the Oceanic "6" (and not 4, or 8) and several other passed-up opportunities.
However, this episode saw the first occurance of the numbers for a long time - the number of Penny's house - 423 (4, 42, 23)
I'm wondering whether this is actually intentional, whether it refers to something? I've got a few ideas, but i'll need to articulate them in the mean-time I thought i'd put it 'out there'
P.S. the numbers probably have appeared in significant places this season - however about from the
'freighter four'and perhaps a few other appearances, I don't think they're as
'apparent' as they used to be. They even had Charles hold up a
755 card instead of a
234 card (for example).
