The Constant. Desmond episodes are always sensational, but this was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G-! Quite possibly the best episode Lost has birthed, certainly in terms of bringing so many potential themes and realising them - time, time-travel, electromagnetism and something I've really been banging on about this season, but never thought it would be proven so soon - PERCEPTION. In particular the perception of time on the island in relation to the outside world.

We learned so much in this episode, most important perhaps is the idea that one can alter the past by replanting "new" memories via "new" courses of action - as beautifully seen as Desmond was walking away from Penny's house, as the feeling his new 'path' washed over him, and Faraday's journal being 'magically updated' with a notation on Desmond being his "constant".

This episode was simply amazing, so much happened yet we hardly saw 'Team Jack' and 'Team Locke' was non-existant. Desmond and Sayid carried the episode superbly and credit to David and Naveen for that - He really should watch his own work every now and then, cos he's a bloody good actor! The addition of Widmore and Penny was excellent and really added to the episode, as well as the mythology with the Black Rock being a subtle yet relevant part of Widmore's successful acquisition of the Black Rock Journal.

I love the idea of perception of time being more important than time itself - this is something i've been bleeting on about for a while now, and particularly since season 4 and to see TPTB taking this path is so exciting. It just opens up so many doors and possibilities for the show - including aspects surrounding (in particular) Ben, Jacob, Alpert and even the O6 (who's arrival back into the real world, MUST have some consequences relating to 'perception'.).

A stunning episode..I joke not when I say that imo this is one of the best episode of Lost.

..and I didn't even mention the addition of 4 more Frieghties (where was Regina?)..who were fantastically introduced.
