I just watched them both an hour ago, rushed home to start posting. After all they have been through, especially Hurley, I would have marched in and sat down next to jacob, and just said "Mate, start at the beggining..."
The cabins mysterious appearances and repappearances through up again, at least for me, the most important question in starting to understand LOST: Hurley's sanity. Is it his mind, or the islands, that do it to him? Especially considering the flash forward with Charlie. Is it Charlie? Its the slap that gets me. And being LOST, surely by logic it has to be.
What I would like to see is that scene through looks very two eyes: did he see the hut appear and disappear? How much is locke in the know, and how much is still blind faith in the island?
Ultimatly: its all around the hatch imo. I do NOT beleive they spent a whole season in there for it to be meaningless. I think the key to everything happened and is omnipresently emminating from there, deciding the paths people take: and especially Hurley's experiences.

First of many S4 posts! w00t!
