What's this condemning of Sawyer for?
Was it just me that saw the scene with he and Hurley in the jungle where he was really trying to comfort him? It was Hurley that refused comfort, not Sawyer not giving it. We know Sawyer doesn't show much outward emotion for deaths, e.g. Lulu, but we've seen him comfort Kate, Karl and Hurley (or attempt to) now.
Anyway I'd say Hurley took the news hardest on first hearing, but it will probably have a worse effect in the long run on Claire.
