But as murg said, why didnt he ask for permission for someone else to come with him on the submarine? And like i said above, he seemed to have abondend the losties...

That's a good point. I suppose it would have wrecked Lost, if all of the Losties got off of the island

they can't exactly get rid of the majority of the main characters..

Maybe it was because he planned to go back anyway, and none of the other Losties were with him. Or he may have thougfht it was dangerous and decided it would be safer to just risk his life, rather than more - we know he doesn't truley trust the others, he only did because Kate told him to, because he had to.

Well it would stop Charlie complaining about air time

Yeah he probably was planning to go back and save them, but to me it seems he's abondend them by the way hes acting??

I can see where you're coming from. But he obviously does care about them. He was going to go back for them and he said 'of course' he would stay if his friends weren't to be set free. He was doing it in order to help them.
