Now im not slamming Locke for this because it's most human to be like this, but i think it says something when at times Locke's faith can be so resolute, but then when he doesnt understand something, that faith crumbles so easily. I suppose this is due to his past - he wants to believe and he wants to trust, heck he does all those things, but essentially that faith and that trust is undermind by the scars or doubt and a lack of self worth..or rather a fear of self worth. Thats essentially what i think undermines Locke's otherwise strong faith.

Yes, such an appropriate quote to use. I remember when Locke said this to Charlie in S2..i sensed at the time that he was aying that from experience.
I guess Locke has tried so hard to have real faith and trust..and on the surface he does..he really does..but dig deeper and the cracks in the faith appear. I suppose this is why he's (in his own words) a many of many beliefs? Throught this journey he's told us that he believes in faith, luck, superstition, philosophy..and of course, he has a tendency to follow blind faith in science.
I suppose Locke ealternates between 'surface faith' and 'blind faith'?..trouble is..he needs the kind of faith that is found
between those two.. i guess,
the first cut is the deepest..and the 2nd..and the 3rd..and the 4th..and the 5th..and the......etc
