I think it was the others, Walt said that they weren't who they said they were and that they were pretending. So he obviously knew that they weren't hillbillies, and was probably being kept somwhere else, so why would he lead Michael to their fake camp?
btw, there's a bit about this in the survivour section in the Walt part with some interesting points. I've written more about it in there.

but michael didnt actually make it to where he was told to go if i remember correctly, he ran into tom and picket, before being kidnapped.
